Who’s Hypnobirthing suitable for?

If you’d like to learn about how you can have a positive birth experience then Hypnobirthing is for you. First baby or fourth baby, any age, any stage in your pregnancy, any situation, everyone is welcome. Hypnobirthing is helpful for any type of birth. We’ll talk about everything from induction, to water birth, to episiotomy, to VBAC, you name it.

When should I start?

It’s usually best to start your classes when you’re around 20 weeks pregnant, giving you lots of time to use everything you learn. Further along? That’s ok - it’s never too late to start. Just let me know & I can sort something that works for you.

Where are private classes held?

Private classes are usually held in your home, or online, wherever you feel most comfortable. I offer face to face Hypnobirthing classes in Glasgow and the surrounding areas, and online if you live further afield.

What about group classes?

An important part of Hypnobirthing is feeling relaxed and letting go, so it’s important to me that your experience is as personal and intimate as possible, so I like to keep groups small. For now, I’m holding all group classes online to keep everyone as safe as possible. You get exactly the same experience - the only things we can’t share are hugs and biscuits!

How long is each class?

The full course is usually around 8 hours teaching, depending on how much we chat! This is usually split into 4 evening sessions of 2 hours. We’ve got a lot to cover - everything from due dates, to Braxton Hicks, to perineal massage, doulas, midwives, signs of labour, to writing a birth plan. We should even be able to squeeze in a few laughs along the way.

Does my birth partner need to be there?

This isn’t a deal-breaker but it’s definitely best if your birth partner can attend too. We’ll spend time discussing their role, how you can work as a team and making sure they are as prepared as possible to support you during your pregnancy and birth.

Having a planned C-section?

Hypnobirthing can help with any type of birth by helping you to feel calm and confident, make informed decisions and work towards the most positive experience possible. We offer a full Positive Caesarean Birth course, so just get in touch and we can discuss your individual needs.

Is it worth it?

Babies are expensive, there’s no two ways about it. Pram, steriliser, new-born photoshoot, clothes... We fork out for everything on the baby list knowing it’ll only be used for a limited time. Paying for a Hypnobirthing class is absolutely an added expense, but it’s also an investment in the most important time of your life and your baby’s arrival into the world. So why not ditch the expensive baby gadgets from your wish list and ask for a contribution towards a positive birth experience instead? It’ll last a whole lot longer than that designer baby grow. I also offer payment plans so there’s always a way we can make it work - just ask and we can chat about your options.

Am I inclusive?

You bet! It should go without saying (although we know that’s not always the case…) that this is super important to me. BORN READY BABY. welcomes EVERYONE. I do everything I can to make sure that my business is a safe space for all. I take the responsibility of continuously educating myself very seriously, and I’m open to all feedback. My pronouns are she/her.

How do I book?

You can book your course here or by getting in touch at bornreadybaby@outlook.com.

What’s involved in a BRB Hypnotherapy session?

First of all we need to understand what it is that’s holding you back and what you’d like to change. Then we’ll get into the Hypnosis. Whilst deeply relaxed, you’ll access the unconscious part of your brain to work on the limiting beliefs that are holding you back… in a nutshell!

What will Hypnosis feel like?

Hypnosis feels different for everyone and might feel different each time you do it. Most commonly you’ll feel really deeply relaxed. It’s pretty wonderful.

What can it help with?

Anything that’s holding you back! Anxiety, anger, confidence, relationships, self-esteem, stress, phobias, habits, weight management, fears, quitting smoking, motivation - you name it.

Does it work for everyone?

Hypnosis can be used by anyone but I encourage you to have a free 15 minute call with me before booking to make sure that I’m the right fit for you. Success is determined by your desire to make a change and commitment to the process. Hypnotherapy and Coaching shouldn’t be used in place of medical advice. If you have any concerns, please speak to your medical care provider.

How many sessions will I need?

This all depends on what you’d like help with, but on average 2-3 sessions is best to get you started.

What are my Hypnotherapy & Coaching qualifications?

I hold a Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy & Coaching from the Manchester College of Coaching & Hypnotherapy | CMCCH | GHSC General Hypnotherapy Standards Council Accredited Training and I’m a registered practitioner with the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council.
